AT W1000 and A1000 price raise alert!!! - Page 2

I received my W1000s today and although they were a few days late, I have "zero" qualms with AudioCubes. In my shipping notification, they were most apologetic for the delay and once the item was shipped, it arrived amazingly fast. This is my second order from this company and I would have no problem ordering from them in the future!

I just put my order in on the 30th, maybe Kohn can tell me when "Ash Chapman"'s package containing a pair of ATH-A9X's and ATH-A1000's will be expected :P (don't worry Kohn, I don't expect you to actually post that here).

The A9X's are for my friend. He heard how badass mine were and how incredibly comfortable they were and knew he had to get a pair.

Now that's something I can ask you, Kohn; do you happen to know if the A9X pads can fit on the A1000's? That would be awesome

Kohn was nice, helpful, and prompt in the few replies he's sent me. I won't overdo the praise, but so far so good. It's natural to jump to conclusions, because there's little reason to trust business these days, but AudioCubes is fine as far as I know. Which isn't far, since I've not bought anything there yet. Hopefully their price will come down on the A1000 (assuming we get some useful impressions indicating how good it is), because I'm interested in it.

Thank you guys for once again the encouraging words. We will have to live up to the expectation. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize for the delay that most of you recently experienced. We are still learning and definitely hope to be the best in the future.

Lou, thanks for the brief intro on the A1000 and I am glad you like it. Personally I have not heard of these headphones myself. I have had experiences with quite some headphones myself. However, just like many members here, I can only distinquish between the ones I like and the ones I don't. It's usually hard for me to put words into describing the sounds. I know that I love my E888SP for portable use, D66SL Eggo for winter time portable use (although I think the sound is OK); I have had a listen of the W100, Sony V700, Senn HD497 and some other ones and thought they were generally all OK. When I am home, I generally listen to music via my home decks and Denon speakers. I am more of a speaker-man. I prefer them over headphones. Perhaps I do not have headaudiophile-like senses and thus am really not qualified to post here.

PS. I certainly hope the prices will become more affordable. You should see it when the prices can be lowered.

This is bad news indeed. I wish I were more impulsive, I could have saved $40 if I end up deciding to get these.. Oh well. That's abut 2/3 of a day's work, which is nothing compaired to the life of the phones. I just have to be patiient and wait for more reviews and compairisons... Why is this part so hard?

My W1000s showed up today and I must echo the compliments for AudioCubes and Kohn. Cans sounded great out of the box driven by a MOH(R)/Arcam FMJ 23, although going to a closed style is kind of interesting. Did a 8 hour burnin that seemed to smooth things out even more. W1000s just ooze design and quality; very impressive. Very, very pleasant alternative to smurfed HD600s with all music styles tried so far. If you are looking for a zero regrets alternative set of 'phones these are hard to beat.

What's this I've been hearing about "smurfed" HD600s? Sorry for the minor thread crapping, I rather not make a new one just for this.

Zero regrets huh? /me shakes a little more and goes back to book..

DarkWolf: Cardas cable replacements for HD600 are smurf blue, hence the "smurfed". # of regrets is my measure for shopping success, and the W1000 are schweeet! What's the book?

I stand corrected! It was a bit exagerated as I think only Lou and I did this. I should have said some, not many!! I'll edit the original post to make it more accurate!! Thanks StAtiX!!!

AND...

That person (Kevin) at first didn't care for the 100ti, but then he really listened to it and decided that he really liked them a lot. Now he is going to buy the A1000.
