Hey all I have not seen much about this new woo amp, but I have been keeping my eyes out for it as a new driver of my O2's. It looks like the new Electrostatic Amp from Woo has hit the streets.

His website link Woo Wastax

$1200 plus $50 shipping based on the great Gilmore's design. Just might kick the poop out of my 006t. I would love to hear one before an order, I also wonder what the build time is.

Cheers.

I think that was when the original Kevin design was.

I remember Woo saying that he made some one offs at one point and then was setting up to go into production for this amp. I guess that it took over a year or so since he said that.

I have to admire that clean layout and build though (big image is Woo's):

Yeah, not new, the same 12AX7->6S4A design as before. Outstanding point to point work in there.

We still haven't had a brave explorer of new lands compare the Woo to the McAlister yet. Comeon guys!

Bump...

Anyone using this amp with Omega IIs and care to report about it?

Any user experience with this Woo Audio amp., or with the latest McAlister amp., using O2 or HE90 headphones?

OK ~ Who's gonna do the community a great service and pick up the
Woo?! Don't temp me... Regardless it's gotta be an upgrade from my HEV70..

I don't think you will see to many takers on this. KG himself has said that it an old design (his). And is behind the KGSS and KGBH in performance. It does look damn nice though.

Hello Derek,

Certainly, we have the Stax amp in black. The current version is much
improved since the prototype. In particular, the current model offers
enhanced power supply, very low noise level, and more concise internal
wiring scheme.

Build time for this amp is about 3 to 4 weeks. Please let me know if you are
interested in reserving an unit.

Thank you,
Jack

Was wondering if the Stax amp can be bought in black. And has the circut
been changed at all compared to the original design ? Thank's, Derek

I love the design, it looks so streamlined...$1200 bucks not bad either, very tempting.

I sent Woo Audio two emails, asking whether this amp will drive an Orpheus HE90, but I never got an answer. I'll try again.

It may or may not come with a 500v bias supply, but otherwise there is no reason why it couldn't.

Does anyone have a phone number for Woo Audio?

Looks like I'll have Woo Audio make one for my HE90, and I look forward to displaying it, and one or two McAlisters at forthcoming South Florida meets.
