Sensaphonic 2x-s arrived today

Wow, just spent the evening listening to my brand new headphones. I think I'm finally done. My collection current includes:ER-4S, E5c, HD600 and Grado225, and now the 2x-s. This is the first IEM I've owned that competes and possibly outclasses the full sized phones. It will take some listening time to really appreciate how they compare with the other headphones, but so far I'm really impressed.

I paid 850 for everything, that is impressions, shipping and all. They really feel like professional grade headphones.

so you think they're better than your hd600?

whats the soundstage comparison? detail? overall balance? Please provide more info!

Congrats man. They'll only sound better as time goes on and you grow accustomed to their nuances.

I'm not one who believes in babying gear - you should though clean them regularly and make sure to store them properly. It's easy to get wax build-up in the tubes, and crushing them in your backpack (as I've been known to do) probably aren't the smartest things.

Best regards,

It takes me weeks of listening to really evaluate headphones, but so far, I'm really impressed. Yes, I like them better than the HD600, but I like the Grado225 better than the HD600 as well. I'm not a compete Bass-head, but I prefer it. And I've always prefered my Grados over the E5c because of the open soundstage and the clean strong bass. And to my ear the Grados always sounded more dynamic than the HD600. The 2X-s have the solid detail of the HD600, with the dynamic sound of my Grados, including the bass. But like I said in my opener, it takes time. But I can already say that this is easily the best IEM headphones I've ever owned.

The only complaint I have is with people I can't hear coming into my office. Once I do hear them though, it takes a some time to free one of my ears for conversation. These are easy to put in, and have a great seal, but I'm having a little trouble breaking the seal so that I can have a conversation. I could easily loosen the E5c, have a conversation, then put the Tri-flange back in. I don't quite have that now. So I placed an order for the PTH adapter from Shure. Hopefully that will fix my issue.

Does anyone know if these phones have a breakin period? I don't really believe in break-in, but maybe I'll notice something.

congrad on getting the sensaphonics 2x.

Yup, they sure do outclass everything. Anything past these is just playing around with sound signatures and having fun.

Enjoy, and in the meantime, I need to run up on stage and tuck those cords behind her ears properly!

CONGRATULATIONS!! Welcome to the Club!

I sent in my Sensaphonics to Chicago, left driver was dead. Right driver has gotten moisture in it. Total Repair USD$300 + USD$125(Rush Processing) + USD$100(Shipping). but I did it anyway. I still thought Sensaphoincs 2X-S is a keeper after going through so many IEMs.

Well give it time a week or so. After a while it's like a second nature. it took me 1-2seconds to take out Sensa and to put it back in. It's that fast. You just need sometime of getting used to.

PTH is however a great thing. I'm using it all the time, I just have to turn it on when someone would like to carry a conversation with me.
