Rega Planet 2000 cd player

Years ago, I gleaned a vast amount of knowledge and advice from these forums and ultimately settled on a rig including Sennheiser HD600s, a Sugden Headmaster amp, and the Rega Planet 2000 cd player. I have been very happy with this setup for years now, and it breaks my heart to put the player up for sale, but I do need the money. I have taken good care of my equipment. I bought the player used online for about $750, and received it in its original box in something like 9/10 condition. I would approximate its current condition as 8/10, and I only drop the point to be safe -- I'm not very certain of quality criteria for measuring these things. There is absolutely nothing I can discern about the player's condition that brings it below a Like New status.

I no longer have the original cardboard box, but I will include the player, its power cord, and the remote. Oh -- I am pretty sure that I have the original manual as well. I am offering a price of $450 (USD), including shipping.

I will accept either paypal or a check in the post. I would prefer to ship only within the United States, but if someone from another country is seriously interested, we can look into a revised shipping/insurance cost.

This is the only place where I am posting this sale for now. If more than a week or two goes by without a bite, I'll start to look for other venues.

Here is a really lousy photo of my rig several years ago. Sorry for the poor quality; I do not have a digital camera or anything right now.

Please feel free to ask me anything you like, including my opinion of the player and its sonic relationship with the other equipment I have paired it with.

The price is very much negotiable, people. I need this money, so I'm desperate enough to do sell it at such a low price that you could probably just turn it around for an immediate profit.

I'll lower the price including shipping to $550 USD right now. If you want to make me a lower offer, I'll be happy to listen.

I'd like to apologize; my earlier stated prices were based on an incorrect assumption about the player's current value. I have lowered the price including shipping (domestic) to $450 USD.

This is a fair price, I bought one of these a couple months ago for 70 dollars more. Ive been following them on audiogon and right after I bought mine the price fell nearly 100 dollars for most of them. Go figure! Does this one have the silver loading door (like the picture) or is it black?

Thanks for your comments. The player for sale is exactly as shown in the professional photo at top, including the silver load door. When I originally bought it, this was a major selling point for me! Let's be honest; it's a pretty sweet looking piece of equipment.

I also want to confirm that I do have the instruction manual.

Totally awesome exclusive offer still stands!

I'll have to put it up for sale at audiogon at the end of the week if no one bites by then.
