K501 or K701 ?

If the neutrality is ONLY concerned , Should I choose between these , K501 or K701 ?
Last night i 've audited K501 and K701 and I 've found that K501 gives me more neutral and more real soundstage according to my ears .

So all your opinions will be useful , I hope for you all !

I really enjoy my new K501's but I feel they are too bass shy. My K501's sound very neutral to my ears.

hi nnthnt , what's your source for your audition? and is the K701's fully burnin?

With the nearly $200 price difference between the two, It makes sense to start with the 501's. Besides, 501's are going to become hard to find very soon, while 701's will be around for a long time(in current production)

IMO, true neutral falls between k501 and k701

I own both of them and IMHO each of them has its own strengths.
When I was using 501 bas was never the problem - i like short and well controlled but as soon as I've compared them to 701 - I might want from time to time more bas.
So to my perception 701= more neutral and really nothing lacking. Soon I will post review of my fully Pink Floyd modded X-Cans but just a fresh remark - with stock X-Can and stock JAN tubes 701 sounds rather plain, uninvolving and instruments are lacking all the colors. As soon as I've changed tubes to Mullard and conducted caps mod+little pinkie replaced wallmart - this is another story. I've procured bunch of tubes so soon will try tube rolling. I wish those tubes were outside the amp so rolling would be easier.

k501 is a bit bass shy indeed, but more neutral than k701 to my ears.

k701 is a wonderful headphone, but I've never heard the k501 to compare it to. the k701 was actually on my Keep In View List as its sound is really appealing to me.

But i Believe the k701 requires sufficient amping? Does the k501 suffer this fate as well?
