I think they sound okay. Better than my old cables, but not really that stellar.They certainly sound much cleaner, but the sound is a bit different.

CAT5 is a very strange variant of cable to be using with audio, but whatever floats your boat. Also, I would discourage cable braiding, because over time, the individual wires inside the cables can break.

Hope he used a braiding tool... it took me about 8 hours to braid a pair of 6' speaker cables from Cat5 with approximately the same number of wires by hand.

I think I may have been bitten by the DIY bug. I did some troubleshooting and fixed the problem. The sound is much better IMO, bass improves and it is the perfect length for my application. I may recable my KSC75 with 2 strands of CAT5 or 4 wires fro ratshack. I really just want to get rid of the stupid volume pot, and maybe add a bit of SQ improvement.
