Long, arduous journey this has been

I've been in contact with a seller on Audiogon and I've finally decided on an amp for the K1000 after going back and forth many times.

Pass Aleph 30 on the way

But as we all know, the Journey can never end...

wow, that was a tough journey congrats!

so you came full circle back to the aleph 30. but now you now you need to get that killer tube preamp

but honestly, from my POV, i wouldnt want a tube pre that would take the amazing detail down a notch.

I might just use the Lavry's variable volume out, since people have reported good synergy.

You are so lucky... I wish I had the money to afford an amp like that (check my sig)

I would have to do a direct comparison before I bought one blind. I think the Aleph 30 will hold its own.

Congrats on the purchase..Great buy. I am sure that the aleph series of pass labs amps will do the k1000 a great justice.

Excellent choice, J-Pak. You must be excited, and watching the post every day.

In my experience, the K1000 just cries out for a big, honkin' Class A SS amp like Nelson Pass' Aleph designs. I predict you will be a very happy man once that beast arrives in NH.

You have probably seen this in your due diligence phase, but in case not, here is a nice review of your beautiful amp.

Is this what your's looks like?

Hi Gene. Yes thats the exact one, I was patiently waiting for one of these to show up. Finally paid off.

Should be a nice room warmer in the winter time

@J-Pak:

Haha, I'm certainly not talking down to the Aleph 30, but I've realized after getting my Aleph 3 that I want to get the best K1000 rig that I can possibly afford, and the F1 seemed like a sure-fire choice, having both professional and user impressions confirming its excellence with the K1000. I guess you can say it's a pre-emptive strike against upgraditis on my part.

But there's one thing which I'm sure that the Aleph 30 has over the F1: the power button is in the front.

Just make sure to call the Doc if it lasts more than four hours.
