Doc's Pay It Forward Music Thread - Page 3

It would be cool to start one of these in the UK.

Mods: Anything against it? ie.: 2 stickies, this one (for CONUS) and one for the UK...

Hopefully you will get more participation than the US. Maybe we should change the title to "FREE music.....sort of" people may not know what "pay it forward" means. I have LP's posted that are still available for the CONUS if anyone wants them.

I would do this for sure US based.

I think its a great idea in principle, now only if it would work in the real world But seriously political views aside, I honestly think we should get this off the ground...

I'll offer up an Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery cd. It's the original Atlantic version mastered by Barry Diament.

The cd looks like someone tried 'fixing' a spot on it and the surface 'looks' like @$$. It plays just fine, but doesn't rip easily in EAC.

Somebody needs to offer some metal...

and I would offer something up, expect for the fact that I'm working on building a CD collection, and currently only have like 3 CDs(all of which I love). So give me a little bit of time and I shall return with something to put up...

Lateralus is metal (?!)

Exceptional album (won a grammy for the bass work in one of the songs), good album with excellent sound quality. HDCD too.
Maybe not metal,.. but enjoyable and close enough in genre in some ways.

Hey I know this thread may be slow, however I cannot start her up as I am in Australia, I do have 1000+ CDs (origionals), and I know if I sent something off, being one of my fave albums, would likely be a copy. I know this would be a rip off of the artist, but my take on that would be that:if the recording is obscure and unheard of, then they haven't lost a sale, and may just gain a sale if the person hearing it decides that the artist is awesome, and they go out and buy more of their catalog, and/or an origional of the recording to support them.

Anyhow I had to copy Wilburys disc 2 (Southern Cross University has it as part of their library collection), as I wasn't going to pay $300 for it.
Sonia Dada is my offering on CD (origional) to Australian residents.
