How much are these Zen Vision:M dock/mini cables (in USD)?

The price I paid with shipping was 49.98 euro about $62. To me, the investment was worth it since the big gain is a direct line out signal to the zen without going through the dongle (standard zen dongle) and a mini to mini (blue dragon).
As far as sound, it is opening up nicely as it burned. Listening my zen vision m with the Qables connector to an SR-71 with the DT990.
It is quite open and more defined. It seems that the bass response has increased and is becoming more punchy. The music (mp3 at 192kbps) is clear with no background hiss.
I noticed that at low volume, the sound seems to be louder with an increase in sound field.
I don't use my dongle anymore for listening but just to recharge and transfer music.

Needed to make one thing clear. The effects that are described are not drastic ones but subtle ones. Do they justify buying the cable just on this basis, I don't really know. For portability sake, this connector would be a must since it is the only one provided, as far as I know, for the zen vision.

When you get the cable, post your impressions. I'll be curious to see if we both agree as far as sound improvement.

Well an update is in place I think, I will probably finish it by coming monday. I have been working on it today.

I did some trials before I found an acceptable solution, but I have.

I'll post some pics when ready.

j24 - you are comparing it vs your old sync adapter --> blue dragon right? and it actually sounds better?

then it should be a worthwhile investment for me since i only have a crappy mini-mini which came with my pa2v2

If you are still using the original mini to mini that comes with the PA2V2 then it is a no brainer, you should go this route versus buying a better mini to mini and using the original dongle.
On top of it, the original dongle as a tendency to disconnect sometimes and depending on you mp3 player case, it is sometimes difficult to get it to stay connected. The Qables connector has a locking mechanism that prevents the disconnect.
I would say to get it since a good mini to mini without the dongle can run you that price or even more.

Pictures

Well I finalised the adapter I promised to build for jbloudg20 for fun. It was indeed fun doing but it was quite some work. Messed up 2 times and still not as I wanted it but it works!
Find some pics below.
The short one is the Zen the longer for the iPod but see the mini, it is torn up a little and not well fitting. The height of the iPod dock connector has been reduced to 2cm.

And yes, I would think that a dedicated connector what had less distortion than the default dongle that is multi purpose on the zen.
Can anyone here confirm this? I would hate to waste $60 dollars if a good mini to mini cable would provide almost the exact same audio quality.

People mention listening through the included dongle that came with the Zen.

Do you guys mean your listening with headphones plugged into the A/V jack of the dongle?

I tried this but the player switches to "A/V mode" and I lose any volume control ability.

Any ideas of how I could use this method while waiting to get an LOD?

thanks in advance ....
