Not really but I do most of my music listening at work and portables are more practical. But from what I've seen the HR-2 is not too big that it would not fit at my desk.

The SR-71 is the best transportable I have yet to hear- although that may change when my updated supermacro returns. However, the HR-2 is in a different class altogether. I tested the SR-71 against the presonus amps and thought it was close, but the presonus was maybe a close winner. With the HR-2, I will never listen to the presonus amps again.

However, if you are just settling into the SR-71, spend your time with it, it is a fantastic amp. Maybe you could make a plan to upgrade sometime in the future. Dont let the fact that there are batter amps at twice the price take away from your enjoyment of the SR-71. I just happened to find the HR-2 at a price I could swallow, otherwise I didnt plan to look at one for several months.
