HR-2 is unbeleivable.

I have compared the sr-71, supermacro, and the supermini with the presonus central station amps, I think the presonus is the best of the 4 (though very close to the SR-71). I bought an HR-2 the other day, and told myself, if this doesnt surpass the presonus amps, I didnt know where to turn.

HR-2 arrived today.

Right now, I am listening to the same setup as the other amps- foobar asio- esi juli@- glass toslink- presonus dac- presonus preamp- hr2- DT990, and I am completely blown away. I am listening to Soul Coughing Irrisistable Bliss (recently re-discovered), an album I have heard at least 100 times over the last 8 years or so and I have never heard it this way- it is like a new album. All these details were there all along and I never picked them out, they were never so obvious, never such an integral part of the music. I have experienced the wow factor with other equipment, but never to this degree- just wow.

My music has life on a whole new level tonight. I wonder what I will think of my portables after this? Its like I have recaptured what I lost 5 years ago when I sold my Klipsch Chorus II's- probably better.

Try playing the album on your avatar, animal collective sung tongs. The HR-2 is really silent with amazing blackground, the details in that album really pop.

I love the HR-2, one of my favorite solid state amps. Very nice and open, and warm.

It's really juicy with the K701 as well! (Well-burned-in 701s, of course.)

I liked the HR-2 when I heard it at the So. Cal meet.

"Nice and open" like opening the curtains and windows of a dark basement on the first day of spring.

Hr-2 is a solid little beast, its the one amp in the RSA line that will not be put down in terms of sonics from the other RSA amps. sure the Raptor is nice but the hr-2 steps head to head and offers the ease of no warm up or even no power switch (I really am that lazy).

When telling your friends about your new found baby HR stands for High Resolution and the 2 stands for 2 channel.

look at opamps later on also, there are a few threads about them and the amp that might halp a bit..

enjoy yours cause everyday I am enjoying mine..

I just got mine last week, and I am totally impressed! I'm using it right now with my ES2's and this is a serious desktop rig. Amazing imaging, detail, soundstage and resolution.

I bought it from iamdone who was kind enough to include some opamps and a few tools (and to explain to me what that all means ). I will mess with that at a later date, but at this point "it aint broke" and I am pleased, so I'm not messing.

I love the HR-2 with my Qualia 010, HD650, and Grados. Been enjoying mine for about 2 years now. You like what you hear? Pair it with a Meridian CD player and you will like it even more

To what extend is the HR-2 a step up from the SR-71? Even bigger soundstage and more detail? I just got my SR-71 and I'm in love with it. Don't tell me I got to upgrade again.

You kind of figured a portable was the end of the line?

No you don't, spend your money on better headphones and a good home source first and foremost..
even if you had a top CDP and great headphones your sr-71 still can be used and fit perfectly (as long as you dont care about replacing batt's, and the adapters on the mini jacks)

and besides you sr-71 can do something the HR-2 can not...

need I say more?
