E5C destroyed?

I think i have ruined a pair of Shure e5c due to earwax and me being clumsy. Is there any way to replace the white filter inside the tube, or to send somewhere for repair?

I have the E500's now, but I don't just want to throw the E5C's away if it's possible to repair.

not sure if it's the same on e5's, but on my e4's you can unscrew the housing to replace the nozzle quite easily. if you are referring to something else i can't be of much help unfortunatley

Call Shure, see if you can send it in so they can replace the filter for you.

Thanks for your help. It seems to cost about $150 incl freight, if it's even possible to repair.

I'm thinking about trying to fix them some way. Maybe it's enough just sticking something foamy into the tube instead of the "filter" (without filter they are useless). I got the impression that the "filter" was only a very light foam, or is the construction more delicate than this?

I might as well experiment. It's always possible to take out whatever i put in.

All ideas are highly appreciated!
