Are you truly ready for a serious source? Are you ready for an upgrade that will make a marked change how your headphones sound?

I'm moving soon & won't be able to fit this. So I'm reluctantly selling off my beloved CD player rather than put it in storage. The above pic is a stock photo from another owner, but mine is identical. This player sounds very natural, and is the first digital source I've owned that made the AKG K1000's sound right. SACD performance is absolutely wonderful, and Redbook is nearly as good. Vinyl lovers take note - if you've been frustrated with digital sources, this is one to check out.
I purchased the stock unit last year from a fellow Head-Fier, and sent it to Dan Wright of Modwright Audio to perform his magic on it:
Basic 999ES Signature Truth Mod (orig cost $1150 + shipping):
- Upgrade rectifiers to Harris FRED ultrafast soft-recovery diodes
- Upgrade main stock power supply filtering caps.
- Replace Stereo analog stage with our own Class A tube stage
(5687 dual triodes x 2. High-current, zero-feedback, Class A design.)
- External custom 9.0 power supply
- Auricap coupling caps at outputs, tube stage direct-coupled from player.
Plus:
- LC Audio X03 clock (orig cost $350) - major sonic upgrade, & highly recommended by Dan.
- Multi-channel Op-amp upgrade (orig cost $100 - ready for HT use)
(* It has the standard umbilical, and no Bybees - fyi)
Additional specs & reviews:

All totalled, my investment is ~$2200, and it blows away anything I've heard even close to that price. I'm selling for considerably less here.
Condition is near perfect. The deck does have one ring mark on the top (back left) from the previous owner stacking a component on top. I think I have a pic from before the Modwright work that I can email upon request. Otherwise it is cherry cosmetically. Functionally & sonically perfect. Always gently used in a smoke-free, pet-free, & child-free home. I take care of my stuff, and am a picky SOB. I have the original boxes, remote, & paperwork as well.
Underpriced for quick sale at USSOLD! plus applicable shipping. Local pickup welcome. Payment via Paypal only. If all the info here still hasn't answered your questions, or if you know you are interested, shoot me a PM (no emails pls). No trades, thanks.
Thanks for looking.
