miguel, as others have added, it is indeed a misterx-built alien DAC/PINT combo. sounds absolutely fantastic, if you ask me. or as someone else called it, a budget microstack.

i've been playing around with this "stack" as well as the supermini IV and another budget amp made by misterx. need to test it with some of my better cans which are in boxes somewhere...and then with a better DAC. after that, the supermini IV should be up for sale, miguel...just letting you know

I think they are an Alien DAC and a PIMETA.

Here is a link to the ALIEN DAC.

No, AlienDAC and a PINT. It's such a slick setup, it's like a minimalist MicroStack.

I plan to start making my own cables though. Can you buy the ipod connector somewhere? And for that matter, is there a guide or something as to what wires would go where?
If you wish you can still use the same cable with what is called a turbo dock which is a lineout but you supply the cable. Just a tip if you like the cable but want the benefits of a lineout.

GAH!!!

Why are you using the Indigo DJ over the T's headphone jack?!? I prefer the T as source over pretty much every consumer audio product out there.

Best,

Here's mine for the moment, a complete media system that plays just about anything

Sounds great too.

Media Monkey and Media player classic are my faves to play stuff, using ASIO4ALL.

Sony VAIO UX90SSD, Ety er4S and Koss 75's

welcome to head-fi...sorry about your wallet.

apple earbuds, eh? stay around here longer and i'm sure that's going to change
post #116 of 866
and you might want to rip off the Cmoy for now, amping iBuds isn't going to do much.

Exactly. Gil, you should PM member TURBO and buy one of his quite reasonable and great sounding TurboDocks. I am not sure if you can readily make up your own dock connector, but the DITers obviously find them somewhere.

I'll give him a PM.

What benefit does the line out give? I know it sounds better, but how much better? Is it really noticeable?

very noticeable IMHO, overall more transparent and cleaner sound with some more bass too.
