is anyone using fb here? we have the fb page now
Depends what he means by portable use, in a noisy environment trains etc no not ideal being open back sound leaks out and also external noise/sound leaks. The desktop fiio amps are a good starting point i wouldnt bother with a fiio e7/e17 on high impedance cans i have the e17 and it doesnt quite have the power for the hd650's. Theres quite a few decent closed back headphones but i dont own any so cant comment i use shure 535's for portable use ive read good things about the shure srh840 and the srh940.
But have you tried the e17 docked into a e9? b/c I think that is what the question is asking.
Not nearly enough HD650 Fan's out there! I am amazed at how much headphones are taking off. I was in a shoe store yesterday and they were selling HP;s at the counter...The Sync wireless ones for $300....Get your Nike's and headphones here!
A whole lot more people as just those guy love it :)
Hey guys... I know there are a bunch of threads on amps for this headphone, and I have read a bunch... that being said, it borders on too much information to really parse through and process. If you dont mind me asking here, I was hoping to get some concise opinions.
1.) What is the difference in sound from a SS vs a tube amp with these headphones? It seems people like them with either, but I'd say more prefer tube.
2.) I read varying accounts of how nice an amp is needed to power these, at least to a respectable level. It seems most agree they really excel with a better amp, but a lot of people contend an cheaper amp will still do ok. It seems the O2 is well though of. I need to pick up something *semi* portable (aka wont be a pain to fit in a laptop bag), and Id prefer this amp doesnt break the bank. Is this as good a match as I've read, on the cheap/portable side of things?
Any info and opinions on the subject is appreciated.
I was only asking if the 650 and E7/E9 would be a good starting setup, if it would be good or just like "meh", even coming from QC15s I was mainly worried about the E7 as the DAC). I think the E17 would be a bit out of budget. I'll recommend the E7/E9 combo, thanks guys!
