Awesome, I had the E9 before I bought the HA-160, I'm sure you will love it!

Yes, I love the setup. And I have a feeling it will do good with the LCD-2 once that comes as well.

You'll like it. The HA-160 is supposed to have an awesome price to performance ratio.

The LCD-2 is the reason I went with the Burson.  I figured I could use it with the HD650 until I buy the LCD-2.  The Audeze needs to really impress me though because the HD650 sounds mighty fine.

HD650 with extended sub-bass would be the perfect headphone to me.  I know the weight of the HD650 will be much preferred over the Audeze as well.

yeah, this is going to be my first ever open headphone. i just placed an order for it. does razerdog usually ship via UPS ground? i hate USPS with a passion.

Razordog shipped mine via UPS Ground.  USPS is good IF it is shipped via Priority mail, usually only takes two days anywhere in the US.

Hi, guys

Do you think it is a good idea to pair the Sennheiser HD650 with a Firestone Fubar IV Plus (http://www.firestone-audio.eu/shop/products/allproductslisted/fubar4-plus.php) + Supplier (http://www.firestone-audio.eu/shop/products/allproductslisted/supplier-220vac.php) connected via coax to an Asus Xonar D2. Right now I have the Sennheiser HD595, Beyerdynamic DT990 2005 model (250 ohm version) and some IEM (Sennheiser IE8) and want more detail and soundstage. What are your thoughts on this combo (Xonar D2 ->Firestone Fubar IV Plus+Supplier->Sennheiser HD650)? Down the road, I will upgrade to a better amp, maybe a better DAC also, but right now I will stick with the Firestone stuff. Just found a good offer for a HD650 so I thought of buying it now. Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Where did you get the 160 for $300? That sounds like something I'd be interested in

The HD650 for $300, not the HA-160DS.

Which is still a pretty nice deal.

Tip of the hat to Razordog.  Listened to my new HD650 this weekend via the ibasso DX100 and I'm very impressed with the performance of these cans.  My CIEMs are 1964 Triples and I think they compliment each other perfectly.  Both provide maximum bang for your buck.

An article I ran across, I posted in sound science but thought since the break-in tests were done with the 650s I'd post here as well.

Amazon once had it for $300, as did many others before the HD700 came out.

I guess i'll have to wait til its on sale again haha

$360 is good price. I got mine for $350 from Amazon during last Christmas sales. Once the sales is over, the price shot up (hovering around $450 to $500) and never came back down since then. With HD700 coming out soon, not sure whether the price will ever go down again. Below is the selling price history at Amazon. Website like camelcamelcamel.com track the selling price. If history repeat itself again, the selling price might go down again at the end of August.
