Pretty much ALL cable upgrades of any kind are priced ridiculously. So nothing new there.

It's the price you pay for after market cables unless you DIY :P

Personally, I'd rather just buy a better headphone than spend that much on a cable.

Cables are good value if you go second hand. I got the TWag used from the for sale forum . It's a great way to sample what a cable can do without the fear of over capitalization. I've tried the moon audio blue dragon, headphile blacksilver and a Mogami cable this way and have resold them for minimal loss. The TWag V2 has the single most dramatic effect on sound, making the Hd650 feel like a smoother q701 with heaps more bass.

hi, i have a question about hd650 and I don't know where to ask so sorry for the off topic but here I have the best chances to get an answer.

Do the headphones come in a sealed box? I ask because I want to buy them online and in the past I had unpleasant surprises getting used products with defects.

They come in a very sturdy cardboard box that is  upholstered with foam. I don't think that they could get damaged during the transport to you.

Maybe I didn't explained right.

Some online stores sold me used products and I want to know if the hd650 come in a sealed box to be 100% sure I don't get returned/exdemo/used HD 650

Nope, there's no security seal on the box.

And you could, as I have done, go through numerous other headphones, selling them at a loss each time, trying to find the sound that could've been gotten by just buying the TWag for the Hd650 in the first place. It all depends on the sound you want - if the hd 650 is far from your ideal then no amount of cabling tweaks will make it what you want but if it is so very close but just needs that 10% to get it over the line and out in front of all the others then the cable price is well worth it. Now the hd650 is reached for again when before, with stock cable, I would go straight for the ms pro. I still love the ms pro but find I can happily sit with either them or the senns whereas before I wouldn't give the senns a look in. And there something to be said for hearing your Dave tracks both up close and personal (ms pro) or immersed ithe warm soundstage of the hd650. Either one could be my number one and I would be happy - for the moment I'm sticking with both but if one starts to get more head time and the other starts gathering dust in the future I may become a one headphone guy:

I noticed a huge difference coming from a D2000.  The most noticeable being the soundstage and mids.  If your use to closed headphones the open sound will be quite the eye opener.

I've been listening to the HA-160DS + TWag V2 + HD650 combo for quite some time and I like it even more than the WA6 + X-DAC combo. Detail & resolution are almost on par with the X-DAC, and the PRaT on the HD650 goes up by a lot. Sounds three times its price at $300.

I also have the Burson HA-160DS / HD650 combo and I'm fairly happy with my setup.  I've been hearing a lot of good things about the Twag v2 cable,  if it really makes a noticeable difference in quality I might to grab some.

My Burson HA-160 (amp only) is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.  I can't wait to compare it with the E9.
