Would you mind separately posting your impressions with the new cable in the set-up you're already familiar with?  (The E7/E9)

Sure, the impression most likely will be on Sunday since on Saturday it should past the 50hrs burn in mark.  I will do cable and the dac separately, as up right now both are in burn in process.

Here are some kickers maybe some find my reviews will be flaw.

1. I can only stand E9 around 9'O clock position with 20-30% volume on the Foobar2K player.

2. I don't like to analyze my music what I meant is, if the different between item A and B is large by no mean I need to close my ears and listen to my music carefully to seek out the difference.  Music to me is suppose to be enjoyment not analytical, so for those who expect all the professional treble, bass, mid comparisons will be disappointed.

ive had my 650 for about two weeks now the biggest thing ive noticed is how important your recordings are ... before flac and 320 wasnt easy to differentiate but with the hd650's flac sounds so much more full

i am loving this lush sound

 seconded.

I love the lush sound too, but couldn't differentiate between 320 and Flac to save my life. Nor it seems, from the tests conducted so far, can pretty much anyone else.

Congratulations.

Hey Now,

These sound pretty darn good. I just got my pair this past weekend. I think my set up does not show any hint of a veil . . .  iMac ALAC > PM > M2Tech Hiface > Opus DAC > Audio-GD Roc > HD650. I can't wait to re-terminate with Blue Dragon balanced 8^). Sounds very good right now, will see if burn-in improves the headphones.

That HD650 is begging to be balanced.  Go for it!  Looking forward to your impressions on the sonic changes.

I really can't differentiate the two with the K701 either...moving up to my D7000s...things become different, too bad about the annoying D7000 sibilance.

Don't tempt me like that tongue.gif

I don´t think so at least. If you are looking for a "out of head" sound, the HD 650 does that far better. LCD-2 does bass for example better though, but also feels like keeping a brick on your head.

Yeah, that's roughly what it is.

What I mean is, it's the closest to the HD 650 sound among the flagship headphones.

Just ordered a pair after much debating--I was planning to get a pair after a trip in May, but found a good deal, so went ahead and splurged. Kinda excited to finally listen to something better than my current Audio Technica ATH-M45, which I always found to be too bright at high volumes for my taste. I think the HD650 will complement the M45 fine, with its "dark," "lush" sound.

Gonna be driving it with the NuForce uDac-2 for now, which I recently bought to drive the three year old M45. I already know that won't be enough juice to drive the HD650s, but it's all I can do for now (student, LOL). Can't wait to listen to these when they come this Friday!
