Sennheiser HD650 Impressions Thread - Page 877

600 is more linear, but also slightly more 'grainer' then 650.
Soundstage is flatter in 600, more depth, 3D and separation in 650.
650 is definitely slightly warmer then 600.

Those tubes ... I still have some from my past DV337. Sounds soo good.
Any chance you listen to DV337 Ron?

Madell, I am sorry I never buy from razordog, so I am not very sure on their promotion code. Only I heard in this thread some promotion code was mentioned, like "razordog80".
Maybe worth searching in this thread (use the search function, I mean)

The promotion code is usually listed at the bottom of the website...

My 650's are going away for good on monday.  And I'm a little sad.  But they are going to a friend of 25 years.  He asked me about headphones and i responded with questions about where and how he plans to use them.  Ended up offering him my 650's for cheap that have been neglected since i got LCD2's.

my only worry is powering them.  Do you think they'd work out of Macbook Pro/iphone/yamaha reciever?

i figure the yamaha will be fine.

as ive used them with a vintage marantz for years.

but the iphone and laptop i just don't know.  i told him he can send them back if it doesn't work out.

He'll really need to invest in an amp/DAC... but since you let him get them cheap, he could easily pick up a more budget solution to power them. (Mag/Modi, E09K/E07/E17, O2 ODAC, etc.)
