Sennheiser HD650 Impressions Thread - Page 877

Thanks for the info, seems like the 650's are a better deal on the used

market. Is there anything to look out for when buying used?

Are the Cardas cable a worthwhile upgrade? Thanks

i try to avoid hd650 with paint chipped on the headband, this can is v prone to that :P

( when it comes to reselling, a mint set is a PLUS ! )

about the darkvoice, i bought half a dozen of tubes, and must say the sound signature changed a fair bit

according to the diff combos...some are more spatial, some more bodacious...funstuff.

I find the LYR too energetic for my ears, the darkvoice has more blooom ..just a personal thang.

i wouldnt mind  silverplated copper(spc)  on the hd650, the brightness is a good counter to the famous "veil" ...

cant afford pure silvers.

I don't see that many "great" deals on used 650. Actually, I see many deals where guys are asking retail which I really don't understand. The logical choice IMO is $385 shipped from razordogdeals brand new in box from authorized seller.

600 is more linear, but also slightly more 'grainer' then 650.
Soundstage is flatter in 600, more depth, 3D and separation in 650.
650 is definitely slightly warmer then 600.

Those tubes ... I still have some from my past DV337. Sounds soo good.
Any chance you listen to DV337 Ron?

Madell, I am sorry I never buy from razordog, so I am not very sure on their promotion code. Only I heard in this thread some promotion code was mentioned, like "razordog80".
Maybe worth searching in this thread (use the search function, I mean)

The promotion code is usually listed at the bottom of the website...

razordog100
