For detail, HD600 is better.

Can someone explain what veiled means? Is it the slightly muffled, underwater sound like my old Jvc rx700? I hated that so much lol

I also believe the hd 650 is slightly laid back, but feel the m&m combo do bring it more forward

Best way to say is take a blanket, toss it over your speakers and listen...

A bit extreme of an example if you ask me.  perhaps a thin bedsheet?

Sometimes if I want a veiled sound, I put a thin bedsheet over my head and then put on the headphones.

Just wondering, what is a brand new in box pair of 650's worth?

I don't know what it means either. Maybe its placebo. Yes, they're not the brightest around, but it doesn't seem like they're hiding any thing, and it makes them super comfortable to use for long periods.

There is something very reassuring about the clamping force. The velour pads are so comfortable, and the headphone itself so light, that whilst the clamping is indeed noticeable, you just instantly forget about it.

It's a nice feeling to be able to take a swig of whatever beverage I might be consuming without having to give a second thought to phones falling off.

Weight and comfort are reasons that make me love these so much. I get up early and work at the computer for an hour before getting ready to leave for work. I don't want to throw on a headphone that feels like a brick.

Why would you want to do that on purpose? lol

Is it kind of like when I sometimes put on my old skull candies to see how far I've gone? LOL L3000.gif

Hello guys..i need suggestion...i just bought this hd650. I also tempted to get alo silver cable to go with it. Eventhough i still can afford for the cable... i dont deny my self i think the price on the cable is a bit too much compared to the hd650 price it self. Now what really matters to me...is it true that if i used alo silver cable will definitely improved the sound quality? I have read many in forums some say yes and some say useless. I know...the sound may not be improved by much...but will the changes in sound quality be noticeable? If so i might want to get one as i also like the looks on this cable and the length is shorter than the stock cable. Btw...i am going to use hd650 with my graham slee srgii. Has anyone using this alo silver cable with hd650?

Save your money. Even the Orpheus comes with a OFC copper cable with gold plated contacts, the same as HD650.

get to know the stock sound first. then buy an upgraded cable and see if you like the difference.
