Anyone on here have both the HD650 and the momentum. I saw someone refer to the momentum as the HD650s "little brother".

Any thoughts?

Take two. If jessica Fill in blank were asking about a portable over ear, would you call the momentum the "little brother" of the hd650? biggrin.gif

Honestly its the first i have seen it referred to like that. Just curious if anyone with the 650 have tried it.

You can do what I do is get a fiio L7 (its pretty cheap) which will give you a line-out (lo-bypass switch on the side needs to be set) and use it as a DAC with the lyr until you can afford a bifrost.

I've bought two odacs from Joe at Audio Poutine and the build quality and performance of the dac was wonderful!!

Please understand that the he500 is a great hp. I really do love the planar sound. But if I were going for an open planar, I'd pick the he400 as it adds better bass response and is very close to the he500. The other issue with the he500 is the weight. It's heavy...at least for me. The 650 is about a third of the weight and infinitely more comfortable.

I have seller's remorse. I wish I didnt give them up. Im fed up with hifiman's QC. My replacement HE400 better be right, or I may just come back to the HD650.
