I found new love & respect for my 650's after I balanced them.. IMO they are better then the single ended 701s & better then my balanced SA5000 by a pretty large margin..

That number combination should be banned in this thread.

I'm waiting for Enigma Audio Oracle cable for my 650's now. I can do a little comparison between it and RAL if I hear any differences.

My current HD650 is my 3rd time around. This time....I am going to keep it because I sold all the rest of my cans to build the "ultimate" HD650 rig in near future...the balanced Supra

Balanced HD650 with aftermarket cables is the way to go. Even a normal HD650 with the right aftermarket cable is beastly.

Stock HD650... not so much.

I've had HD600 for many years and I've thought of upgrading to HD650 for many times, but is it really worth it. I'm quite happy with HD600 but does anybody have first hand experience of this upgrade?

Listening to Alban Berg Quartet's "Trout," and it is just absolutely stunning. It makes me cringe inside. If you own the headphone, you owe it to yourself to try out at least the first movement. Absolutely mesmerizing. Words simply fail.

I have heard HE60 and few other mega-buck cans! (Not mine!!! ) Though they are better in many ways than HD650 its not by very big margin. RULE OF DIMINISHING RETURN!!!
I love my HD 650! It pairs with every piece of gear I throw at at still surprise me me improvements of sound.
DA100 > GS-1 > HD650; I am content for quite some time with this magic sound!!!

HD650 are truly amazing cans. I had prefered K701 for a long time, but HD650 are ones which caught my heart currently.
