I know what you mean in a sense. I don't have LCD-2, but I have HE-400 which, sound-wise, has been referred to as "LCD-2's smaller cousin" because it's dark, weighty, planar sound. HD650 and HE-400 are my two main headphones, and I do have a hard time for my brain to adjust from HE-400 to HD650. However I also still think HD650 (in my tuned setup) is actually the superior one in terms of detail and refinement. But something about the weight of a dark planar is hard to adjust to anything else after they've been on your head a while. HD650 ends up sounding bright in contrast.
