Are you trying to say those of us that love the HD650, have some kind of consenus going? This can't be, it's probably against the headfi TOS.  But you can dream if you want

i just got my valhalla and i get a hiss with my mp3 player when using the hd650. I have only flac files on my mp3 and the amp is connected to a monster power strip. what could be causing the hiss? thanks for the info

Main difference - HD650 are tonally tilted warmer.  HD600 more neutral in signature.  I thought the HD600 more of an all-rounder.

If both are new silver screened versions, the differences are very small. The main would be an unnatural 3-5khz hump on the 600.

Yes, the HD650 has a mid-bass hump that gives it a weightier tone. The HD600 is closer to having a strictly neutral bass.

Thanks guys, im coming from selling my Q701s, to bright for my ears, now im looking at the 600 or 650 HD.  I like the sound of the warmer 650, man its not easy finding the right set of cans.

Too bad I just sold off my HD650s to someone a day ago (which I may deeply regret). You live quite close to me.

Look through the grilles and if the thing (forgive me I don't know what it's called :P) shines silver on the inside it's the new version, if it's dark/black then it's the old
