Makes you feel like your actually their if you close your eyes, in one Tchaikovsky piece Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 74 "Pathétique": I. Adagio – Allegro non troppo performed by Slovak: Philharmonic Orchestra Bystrick Relucha you can hear pages turning, feet moving and chairs being moved etc, they are in the background but they are their.

I just find the K702's to have a slightly larger soundstage, a little more details and less warm sounding which i prefer, but only for classical. For every other genre the 650's are just better. The K702's just don't have the bass or impact for say metal, but that's just my opinion. The only other draw back i guess of the K702's in comparison is the lack of impact, so the 702's are more detailed as mentioned but the 650's are more impactful and emotional, certainly more musical and enjoyable. I guess the question is do you want a more musical, enjoyable headphone or more detail and soundstage. For classical i enjoy the detail personally but sometimes i am more in the mood for the 650's for more impact.

Yeah that's what I thought but everyone keeps telling me to get the sennheiser hd 600????????

I weighed between getting the Hifiman He-400, and the HD650. I'm currently sitting on a pair of Denon D2000 which i love to death (and they're currently pretty dead, Years of pretty reckless use including sleeping with them: They're kept together by superglue and packingtape. The actual phones are great, they've just broken off at the hinges. Currently works pretty good but felt it was time to order something new.)

I was curious on the planar magnetics, but i wanted something with the thump of the Denons, or close to it. Since the D200 are discontinued and more expensive second hand now than back when i bought them it came between He400 and HD650. I'd have to import the He400 and they'd be more expensive that way with taxes. I could get the HD650 for 450 bucks here in Sweden. So i went with the 650's.  Ordered from a store that did not have them in stock (to make sure i got the latest revision, not sure how long they'd sat on the shelf in the other store.) and now i'll have to wait until the 19th for them to receive them.

Makes me sad, but the one who waits for something good...

I can't comment on the HD 600's i have yet to hear them, i just think in technological terms the iPhone 5 is better to the iPhone 3G so in terms of headphone technology i would presume the 650's are better. I have read people stating that the 600's are more accurate but i haven't heard them yet. I'm a massive fan of the 650's sound signature and i can only presume the 600 is similar.

Full insurance on HE90 w/ serial matching HEV90: $22,000

Life insurance on your wife: $20,000.

Finding out you'll be compensated more for your headphones than your wife after a house fire: Priceless.

The HD 600s do give a sense of better accuracy, yet both headphones do have similar sound signatures.  The HD 600s are definitely of the more 'revealing' nature.  Better for anything produced very well and those not looking for a crazy bass response or extension.

As most say... the difference between the two is not big... more of a minor preference. I heard a pair of HD600s at a meet and indeed it's not a big difference. It comes down more to price... the HD 600 is indeed cheaper usually. But general consensus is that:

HD 600:

- more 'neutral' sound

- tiny bit brighter trebles

HD 650:

- more bass

- more resolution

- 'warmer' sound, more lush and rich

In the end, both will still be fairly relaxed and forgiving HPs for anything you throw at them.

All I am going to say is that I really really love both phones, but if I had to choose I would pick the HD650 as my favorite. It just takes everything the HD600 does and does it just a little better. I wish I had gotten the HD650 a long time ago, but I believed everyone that said it sounded almost exactly like the 600. Well it doesn't, but I had to learn that the hard way.

The US power pack I see on JDS site, Triad WAU12-200,  is pretty much minimum spec, the 240V version at 15v AC 500mA is a better spec. ANY 110V supply that gives an output like that, with the correct plug, would be ideal for you. As far as listening at low levels it makes no difference if the gain stage is overloading.

^^^^^^  This ... for me ..... exactly ........  just swap 650 with 600

I'm sure this has been asked more than once but I want some experiences if people know:

How well does Auzen Bravura/Asus STX run HD650? I'm mainly going to get it for watching movies/series because of the great soundstage I fell in love in the HD555 but I sold those few months back.

I have Beyerdynamic DT770 600ohm which I love through Bravura so will I like the HD650 sound?

I originally ran my HD650 on STX (I also upgraded from HD555), works great, I sometimes still use the STX seems to give good growly low bass (on that kind of music). I believe the STX has basically the same output circuitry as Fiio E9 which many seem to like. I have been advised that replacing the STX chips with latest LM4562 improves SQ further. As well as the "growly" I found there was plenty of slam. I have obtained the LM4562s but haven't got round to fitting them so can't verify alleged improved clarity.

Compared to the Beyers? That was what I was expecting, I definitely love the bass in these for electronica.

But think they will be fine as movie/series headphones and occasional listening even if I "can't wring out the true potential" of them without proper headphone amp? (Bravura/STX has Headphone amp but I'm fairly sure to bring out the best HD650 wants something more, I guess the Beyers too would benefit from getting proper amp/dac one day)

I prefer the Beyers for music most likely due to the Closed structure of them too, watching series is ok and all if the sound leaks a little it won't wake up anyone else in the house, but HD555 atleast leaked a lot whilst listening to music.
