Will do, are the stock tubes not good enough?

I have been around audio equipment for over 30 years and I was taught to always turn down the volume before turning off any audio equipment. This is the best way to protect your equipment from potential harm. Just my thoughts.

Is that English?

They are fine. I recommend starting with the stock tubes and using them for several weeks or even a few months and then try some "nicer" tubes. This will allow your mind to be comfortable with the sound signature of the current tubes and appreciate the difference of the new tubes. Many people stick with the stock GE's for years. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Listening to Sarah Brightman/ Scarborough Fair thru the 650+Lyr....

hauntingly great the sound...lush, airy, intimate.

( just put down the Lyr + D7k , was good but not GREAT :P)

The only mods I've heard about are taking out / cutting the foam in the front and back of the drivers.
