Haha sorry if my post sounded defensive I definitely don't feel that way. Just wondering what your logic was. I see what you mean. And I don't doubt that some people out there would have you believe that the HD650 scales endlessly. But that's pretty silly. :)

Did you read the other posts prior to mine? There's this wonderful thing called context. Goes a long to understanding where someone is coming from.

Sorry I've only been following this thread for a few days and I hadn't notice any particularly over-the-top claims of scaling but I don't doubt it.

I think it's just that some people are making it sound like the HD650 can sound as good as an HD800 or a T1 if you feed it with amazing equipment... it's gonna sound good, but it cannot beat technical superiority. The bottom line is, the HD650 improves more than other headphones if you spend more money on equipment. But it's never going to beat any of the headphones that are 3-10x the price, it just won't.

Everyone take a deep breath, put on your cans and enjoy your (compared to the majority of the audio out of there) top of the line sound...

.... As if you didn't have them on already

For some? No.

If the HD 800's actually had technical superiority, that might be true, but if you take a look at the detailed measurements at innerfidelity.org the HD600's though HD 800's all have very similar performance.. 

Can we all just forget about measurements? Please? They mean absolutely nothing in real world situations. Two headphones could have extremely similar frequency responses and still sound nothing like each other. Let us not forget, not every headphone is created equal. One measured pair of HD650s might measure a bit differently from another pair. All the similarities between the HD600 and HD800 show is that Sennheiser aims to be consistent with their signature.

And you determine that from graphs? What type of graphs? There are CSD plots, impulse response graphs etc that illustrates the HD800 is one of the most capable headphones available.... actually... nvm... not gonna bother...ignorance is bliss and all that jazz.

I swear they come out with a new genre of music every damn month. Any artist trying to make a name for themselves or create a new fad twists their music a little bit from the norm and calls it a new genre. OT I know, but I have always found it funny as these new genres pour out.
