R10 vs Qualia vs L3000 vs HP2 vs DX1000 Review - Determining my "King" of dynamics - Page 6

It looks like the DX1000 is in the price range of the K1000 and GS1000. Any one had chance to compare these three ?

There are two headphones in this review which I feel are highly overrated, but I can't mention them or else someone might lynch me (or say that I was "listening with the wrong amp etc.").

I'm glad that someone enjoys them, however...

I owned the GS1000, and still own the DX1000. The GS1000 sounded very good, but I prefer the sonic signature of the DX1000, which is more neutral across the frequency spectrum, with deep, powerful bass.

Just two little things about the K1000. Not all the K1000 sound the same, some are very different especially in the bass. The V20 is a very good amp for them, but not the best (IMO). (I had the R10 two times, I had the L3000 and Qualia, the O2 with many TOP class drivers, I never heard the Orpheus - I had the HE60).

This' very interesting point of view. To my ears, the K1000 is very neutral, too. It'd be nice to hear some comments on the K1000 vs. the DX1000.

he is bumping every thread with L3000 in it it seems. He could read the threads, condense key points for himself, and form a conclusion.

Oops, this is  -=head-fi=-

As a hint mike compared the ED9 to his (now mine!) R10 a while ago. pretty please dont bump the thread. Just read it. from the key points he (and purk if I recall) lay out in that thread compared to the R10 you could form a reasonable opinion of the L3000... Or you could just buy the L3000.

I must compliment his tastes in reviews though. These are quite a few of the nice older reviews that actually compare headphones to each other rather than the new standard of one-headphone reviews.

Agreed. More comparative reviews, less Stereophile, 1 sided, everything is at least good, reviews...

Haha...I miss this thread and a good old Mulveling.  We had such a great time comparing our gears together.  Fortunately for him, he has moved on to a very fine speaker system now.  I don't even think Mike has anything left beside a stock Senn HD-650.  One side note though, Mike struggled to get a good seal with his Qualia and his amp wasn't able to provide enough power to drive the R10 back then.
