Pioneer Monitor 10

Thread Starter
Hey I have an old pair of Pioneer monitor 10 headphones and was wondering if anyone knew if there worth much, if anything, and are worth to fix up and sell.
They are real high quality, loud, read good headphones. Only thing wrong with them is a little wear on the foam pads and slight cracks on one of the sides, no damage to the accual headphones though.

I'll post up pictures of it soon

I never did understand why so few Head-fiers try these.

Hi santa7, i assume that you got the old model of pioneers monitor 10 (about 1978) and not the remake (monitor 10 R) of them form somewere around 2004. This model is a collectors item and very rare. It`s well known for his pure and impressiv sound. The price for the (old model) monitor 10 is now depending on the state 50-150 usd. It would be useful if you add a picture of your headphone here. Regards

I own a set of Monitor 10s.
They're not bad at all but I keep getting distracted by Orthos.

bumpity bumping an old thread here but better than starting a new I I s'pose...

I picked up a pair of these a couple days ago from a flee-market. I use flee markets for therapeutic perpuses, when I get angry I go there and chill...

Cost me 10euros and are pretty great. Sturdy as hell, great sound, and a real cool retro look. They're pretty weighty but I suppose that speaks to the build quality. Might even get me to start using these instead of my wireless sennheisers...

What's the actual price of these puppies?

Mine ought to be here tomorrow or so. I also have a pair of Dt990's 600ohm on their way. Thinking about doing a little vintage round-up with my 480's

I have a pair lying here behind my DAC. but I am too distracted by the Yamaha YH-100 orthos.. listening to Dido and Ella's cole Porter songbook..

I think i will switch to the Pioneers in about half an hour to give them some head time. They are de-foamed though..which is interesting.

Got them on ebay for 20$ shipped a couple of weeks ago.

They only say Monitor10 on them. I plan to replace the drivers with SFI orthos..

They are the older (original ) version...Definitely not the R. They could use a clean up which am gonna do right now..

A Monitor 10 ortho? You have to tell us how that sounds when you are done with the switch!

The Monitor 10 are great value for money. Good sound, great build, and there is a lot of them so you can get them for around $20 like sachu did.
