BRAVO, by Greg Rucka. Excellent series on wet work operators from the US of A.

Just wrapped up Robert Fagles's electric translation of Virgil's The Aeneid. I'd like to check out some of his other translation work to see how it compares. But first, I need to re-read some Alan Moore. Starting with Watchmen, then I might move on to Lost Girls, which I haven't read since the collected edition of it came out, way back in 2006, I believe.

Frederic Manning's WWI novel 'The Middle Parts of Fortune' - I think it may be about to eclipse 'All Quiet on the Western Front' as THE novel on the great war in my opinion.

Wow! I was a history teacher for thirty-five years...I taught WW!, I had a reading requirement, and many students chose to read and report on "All Quiet..." (I always felt a quiet satisfaction as I read student papers on "All Quiet..." it's impact on them was profound...) I'll have to check this book out.

Patriot Acts, Greg Rucka. Another superb thriller in a long line from this accomplished writer who seems to prefer assassins and the world they operate in.

Julian May - The Adversary. In a fit of nostalgia, I downloaded a couple of books from the 'Many-coloured Land' series, which I hadn't read since I was in my early teens. They hold up well for this now-older reader.
