dont get me wrong it was well written, i think it won book club choice of the year award and was shortlisted for others like the booker prize, it just didn't float my boat

I think I have a problem. I can't really hate books when I am reading them. I tend to find something to like in everything.. From Kafka to E.L. James (Kidding )

No reason to hate "Secret History" at least.

If you can't hate, try getting bored enough to put it down.  Works for me.

I'm very interested in this period of history now. I visited Japan a few months ago and visited Hiroshima, as well as Tokyo and some other large cities, like Osaka and Kyoto. It was a very touching and intense experience in Hiroshima. I've heard great things about this book, so I'm excited to start reading it.

Joseph Conrad's "Heart Of Darkness"

Beautiful, beautiful prose.
Makes most authors look like rank amateurs.
