I am more focused on the interaction between characters. You can have archetypal characters and themes as long as the interaction is genuine and interesting.

I've been trying to finish "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" for about three years, now.  I just keep picking it up for a few pages and then putting it away for months on end :)  The movie of the same name is really lyrical and a great slow-burn and is the reason I starting the book.

Other than that, I actually finished a short story by Algernon Blackwood called "The Willows".  I read it because HP Lovecraft regarded it highly.  I enjoyed it... There's a really enjoyable sinister undertone throughout the entire read.

When I have a little more free time, I have 3 or 4 more of Vince's books left to read.....although I think I might start at the beginning and read them all in sequence.

I did that last year after reading them in order as they were published. Mitch Rapp is one of the best characters ever........as is John Clark(Kelly) from Clancy. Without Remorse is my favorite book ever.

Agreed 100%

I don't know if I could choose one favorite book ever, but Without Remorse is at least my favorite Clancy story.
