There's quite an analogy there One thing, though. Since you said that the module gives a lot more slam on the bass, I wonder if it would ever become too bassy with my setup? Right now I am really enjoying my setup with Sylvania Chrome Dome as the driver. The bass is very tight and full. I just cannot imagine how another leap of improvement would sound like... If Part Connexion can just have them in stock right now Btw, the recent story of mal-installation caused failure is worrying me a bit. I don't really have an electrical engineering major, ya know.

I can't advise you there, if Renato hadn't done mine, I would had to have considered other options. I haven't learned any of the needed skills for such a project yet. I feel like I was extremely lucky that it was Renato that offered to mod mine. It most certainly could not have been implemented better, as the pics of the internals show clearly. I also firmly believe that one's attention to detail in aesthetics is merely a byproduct of their attention to detail as a whole.
As far as too much bass, it's doubtful. This DAC doesn't exaggerate bass by any means. If it's in the recording, it reproduces it with uncanny accuracy. If it's not in the recording it's not reproduced by this DAC. It's nothing like equalizing to produce more bass. The fact that it's so well controlled alleviates any sense of false bass. Trust me on this, if bass is handled correctly by a unit it'll never feel like too much, or overwhelm the mids or highs.
