I honestly don't know and can only advise you to ask Craig.

Craig is playing it close the vest on this one, says my serial # 80 already has the "main gain in sound quality".  Hmmm.

Anyways, sounding good as is.  I'm using a Sylvania 6SL7GT as the driver, rest is stock.

The man is a mystery, as are his amps. :)

I bet it's good sounding as it is. I used to have a custom made balanced (inputs) Zana a few years back and still remember it fondly.

Are you using a metal base? If so do you have an address where I can find those? Or one you desperately need to get rid of? :D

6SL7GT, not your fabled 6SL7W.   No metal base for me.  This is NOS, 1945.

I have the Zana Duex SE for a few yrs, and its still with me. It just sound better and better.. dun know why..  I was hoping to get Studio six this year but after reading that there is slight hissing sound with LCD X, I was a little disappointed but It does makes me appreciate the ZDSE even more ...

I guess next step is Balancing Act.. but I prefer the the studio six look .. Dang! I wish Ken could do something about the hissing, I sold my Rx3 because of hissing a few years back.

FWIW, I have no hiss from the Studio Six and the LCD-X's.....
