Eddie Current Zana Deux owners - Page 100

There are no PCB's in a Zana Deux, it's all point to point. I'm sure if you ask Craig (at least from the experiences on this thread) he'll fix it for you. Something needs a little TLC. The problem doesn't sound complicated beyond packing and shipping it.

Actually, i can just drive it up to his house, but the problem is very minor actually, in that it only happens occasionally and i can just tap the knob now that i know what the root of the problem is.  Maybe i'll take it up there when i am back to work but now i have summer down time and i can listen more.biggrin.gif

So, Dallan, you've tried using different inputs, then? If so, and switching driver tubes had no affect, then it could be the switch and if it is, the goldpoint is a worthy upgrade. If a tap on the switch resolves the problem, however, it might not be worth worrying about; depends how fussy you are.

Hi chaps, I've moved some of your posts about tube rolling the Zana Deux over to here :- http://www.head-fi.org/t/297795/ec-zana-deux-tube-rolling-pls-share/570#post_9521707 There's a wealth of information about tube rolling for this amp there. Enjoy!

I always wondered what one must do (officially) to become a Contributor or Moderator. Earn Jude's approval?

At any rate, congrats! beerchug.gif

Contributor - Under the old Head-Fi, they paid a sum to not have to see the advertising for a year, along with other benefits. Paid contribution is currently unavailable.

Wow, thx chaps. Much appreciated!

Actually the new born was last year (he's 9 mths old now) but I did start working again on 1st May after idling for 16 mths. As such I've not been as active on HF in the past 6 weeks as before. My Zana, coincidentally arrived on my first day at work ;-).

9 months already. Time sure flies. I thought it was just yesterday.

I was reading your idea about modding the output of zana to 3ohm. Is it an internal mod or just an ohm adapter in between ?

I've not done it yet. But it seems its swapping resistors therefore an internal mod. I just need to open it up, take pix, pluck up the courage to e-mail Craig to ask him what to change & to what resistor values, & get it done.

I owned EC zana deux for about 2 weeks. It was so great with HD800. Then I decide to upgrade to BA for my HD800. Now I am waiting for my BA. tongue_smile.gif

Can't wait to demo Craig's BA at a local meet soon with my HD800s.  I'm looking for an end-game amp for my HD800s.  What's the current wait time for a BA (300/PX4 version), you know?

I am lucky to have a chance to own PX4 version since Craig told me he has ordered it. All I can do now is to wait for it.beerchug.gif

BTW, I was exactly looking for the end-game amp for my headphones (now they are HD800, HD650). And I do believe BA is the one.
