I'm planning on ordering and Isoclean from VH Audio today.

Good listening.

You can't be serious, really?? I can't imagine that. does anyone else have this experience? I would think if it were true, Craig would have included a better fuse. Why put all that time and money into a top line amp, and then sacrifice a large amount of performance over a $20 (retail) fuse.

Man, this thing is SO detailed and revealing! I was listening to Led Zeppelin I this morning - an album I've heard a million times. At 1:42 into 'Babe, I'm gonna leave you" I could actually hear a vocal track which was either channel muted during mixing, or what I think it was; An earlier take which had been recorded over with the take that made the record. You can still hear the former take ghosting onto the new one. Incredible, never heard that before!

Just wanted to comment on how good the Grado HF2's sound with the ZD. I've owned RS1's and GS1000's, which I really didn't care for with the ZD. I still prefer the Senn/ZD synergy, but the HF2 sound nice.

ZD Fuses

To Kevin,
Have you had a chance to try the Isoclean fuse?

Yes. Nice subtle upgrade. I think it is subtle. I've done so much to my system the past few weeks that I'm having a hard time determining which upgrade is making the biggest difference. I haven't tried to a/b with the old fuse yet.

Zana's 1st bday

We had a great day yesterday. Just a small celebration.

Cheers to everyone.

Congrats! May you have many more good years together! Reminds me I have had mine for just over a year too. Wow, time goes fast doesn't it. I am still amazed about this beauty sitting on my desk playing beautiful music

Thanks. I know, it's like a museum piece. Just gets better and better. Hey .... nice avatar.

Got the idea from the gentleman with the Raptor, sometime last year. Luckily I reminded MsVeee it was the 16th, not the 17th, and she surprised me with the cupcakes from Sprinkles. Very cool. Also got a bottle of Don Julio Reposado.

Just a wee smidgen of it will do you right.

It has a way of growing on you. I'm a little past the 18 month mark and I still love it as much as ever. I'll never sell it.

And almost a year on the Moth Si2A3 - I might love it a little more. It's another one my heirs will have to deal with.

Yeah, I've had mine a couple months now, and still I love looking at it while I listen. It sure do look purdy! When I first got it, I didn't give a damn where I put it, the fact was that I had it and it's abilities. It could sit on a milk crate for all I cared. Now, I'm honestly looking for a really nice wood / glass shelf to put it, the DAC and even the power supply on. It really is artwork.

I'm in on the the next run from Craig. I should be getting my Zana Deux SE in November. Although I currently have some nice amps, SPL Phonitor and RSA Raptor, I'm really looking forward to getting the ZD SE. In the mean time, I've been ordering a few tubes ahead of time to roll. I have some Valvo tubes and a couple of NOS Sylvania tubes on their way.

Also, I'm thinking of ordering an upgrade fuse. Can anyone tell me what size fuse to order? I think the Isoclean fuses come in 2 different physical sizes: 5 x 20mm and 6 x 31.8mm with a rating of 4 amps slow blow. Thanks.

Fuse size

It's the small size. Four amps is good.
