EAR TIPS?

Ok, I admit it... I'm not nimbled fingered like most and a noob IEM user. So I'm staring at the grey ear tips that came installed with my Shure E500s and I'm looking wistfully at the package of nice, brand new tips included, wondering if I can improve upon the already awesome sounds I'm experiencing. Problem is that the grey plastic default tips seem soooo flimsy and tightly inserted, so I'm afraid to destroy them in my clumsy attempt to switch tips. Is there a trick to this or are tips usually more durable than I think? Thanks in advance for your input!

They are more durable than you think.

Just grasp the tip between thumb and forefinger and rotate it off; at least that's how I do it. Just don't invert the tip and yank on the protruding rubber--I would think you could probably tear one if you tried that.
