Juli@ problems... :(

As soon as Windows loads the drivers for the Juli@ a loud static can be heard on the right channel. I've tried muting it, rebooting the PC, made sure it wasn't my amp, and don't know where to go from here. Can you please help me. I'm hoping the issue isn't with the physical card itself.

Edits:

Just changed cables, and the problem is still there.

Have you already tried by reinstalling (updating) drivers?

If the static can only be heard after the drivers are loaded, then it might not be a fault with the card. What driver version are you using?

Normaly if somthing like this happens to me, I just reinstall windows. That fixes most problems :P Can you try the card in a different computer?

Oh and has it always done this?

Nope, and I figured it out. Believe it or not it was a problem with my PSU. I turned off my PC, and my PSU. I turned on the PSU after I woke up, came back a few hours later, turned on the PC, and everything is fine. I attempted to turn on the PSU and the PC right after, but it wouldn't POST. I let the PSU "charge" for a few hours, and everything is fine. Time to get a new PSU?

And it came back.. . I'm guessing this is a power issue. I have tried everything else, including reinstalling drivers. I guess I'll order a new PSU when funds are available. See if it helps. Maybe I should even get a power conditioner.

Not software related at all. Does the same thing in Linux. I'm going to try my other PC now.

Ok, it's the card. Does the same thing on another PC. I tried it on Linux, and as soon as ALSA loaded, the static came back. Guess it's time to RMA and get a replacement. Oh well.. Unless someone has some suggestions?

Can't think of anything. Replacement seems the only route to me.

I'd appreciate it if you'd tell us your experience with their customer service here. I'm thinking about getting a Juli@ for my K1k setup.

Thanks And good luck getting it back in working condition!

never a blip or a burp when I installed my Juli@ last year (will be getting another in couple of months) and has been doing just fine ever since. ........whereas my Emu 0404, in another computer, may have died yesterday - have to do more checking.

i installed my juli@ last night. within minutes i had foobar kernel streaming and feeding my little hornet (my h5 arrives tomorrow) with beautiful crystal clear FLAC music! terrific blackground and i'm coming from the juli@ via analog.

as for my emu0404? one day i suddenly got no sound. and this on a pc that is a pseudo server and i rarely touch in terms of installing or fiddling. pissed me off. it was only a few months old when it happened. i haven't tried futzing with it yet but if i can't get the darn thing going again, i'm getting myself the step down from the juli@ - the maya44. $106 shipped - worth it to me to avoid a headache. was never a fan of the breakout cable either.
