amplifier interconnects

Hi,
I`ve just given myself an expensive toy, a Graham Slee Solo amplifier, Monitor Class. I confess I`m not a hi-fi buff. When I connected the amp(+power supply) to my DMR EH55 nothing happened. I admit I`ve used an old common RCA cable which had come with an old VCR. I wonder if this is the cause. I looked over the audio settings of the DVD. I`ve set them on PCM, and for a frequency response of 12 to 150kHz I sent a query to gpsaudio co. uk, the makers, but they didn`t care to reply. This after paying £500 for a box of transistors. Can my fellow members help?

It seems nobody cares about my problem. Can`t blame them, not even the makers cared to help. Curse my bad luck!

Sure you used only analogue interlinks for connecting your dvd player to the amp?

If nothing happens, it might be that the dvd is sending digital signals to your amp, or your amp is dead!

make sure you plugged in the right analogue interconnects to the right rca(cinch) connectors en select analogue output. Some sa-cd players only can do sa-cd via analogue output.

Rca cable interconnects

Hi Tourmaline,
Today, I went to test the amp and Sennheiser at a friend`s hifi system and it worked, with a common RCA cable and an ordinary CD player. So it was either due to my DMR EH55 incorrect audio settings or a faulty RCA cable. Thanks for your help

Benigno: As that's a dvd recorder, are you sure you haven't just connected the wrong jacks by any chance - i.e. analogue in instead of out?

Yes, Lini, you are right. As a matter of fact, I went back home, checked the RCA jacks and now everything is working alright Thank you for your help
