They don't have it anymore though, but still have some messengers and such that haven't made it to Oakley.com yet. Oh yeah, and they have the shoe collection.

But blade, detonator, and time tank. I thought these were all huge, and wouldn't really look good even on a tomboy's wrist.
Plainsong, i think the Blade is pretty chunky as well, so it might not work on a girl's wrist. i don't have a Blade anymore but IIRC it has a bit of a slimmer body than something like Judge or GMT, but as for the circumference of the dial face and body, it's still pretty big. i htink Detonators would work much better on a girl's wrist though. i love my two Detonators.

as for Zappos, yeah... they have a great Oakley selection (they're even selling shades and watches now) but they never have my shoe size in anything i want. oh, and i'm still searching for the perfect Oakley bag, still have not found one yet. i'm not too into their bags unfortunately.

as for the driving thing, i've never noticed that effect as well. maybe instead of Black Iridium Polarized lenses which is pretty neutral, try something with more contrast like Gold Iridium Polarized, Bronze Polarized, or Titanium Iridium Polarized. driving lenses are usually brown or bronze based anyway for high contrast, which these three lenses are. G30 is a lens tint tuned for golfing, so it might not be ideal for morning driving, the transmission on the G30 isn't very dark as well.

and Vertigo-1 is absolutely right about the Half Jackets. what's great about Half Jackets are that the lenses are easily replaceable, and replacement lenses are readily available in a multitude of lens colours.

Given my recent failure of getting into auto watches, you shouldn't have told me about the detonator. A girl's watch doesn't have to be small to look cool and pull it off.

I always think of the bronze tints as neutral, but I suppose the words I mean to say "high contrast" heh. Anyway, yeah, what Bong said, good for driving. I am soooo loving the black chrome/ti polarized bottlecaps.

In a bit of Oakley charity, I gave my Black/gray Fives 3.0 and half jackets with black polarized and ti polarized lenses to mom. She was using some kind of generic brand, and half jackets look good on anybody. She's loving the ti polarized now as well.

Congrats Vertigo on the gen 1 ruby juliets!! If the Romeo 1's weren't so expensive at the local shop, I'd pick them up just to have them. They look kinda cool on me in a "too big" kind of way. But I'm not much of a collector. The only pair I have that I don't wear much are the Matt Kennseth signature Splices. That's a special kind of weird on a girl's face.. but it can be done, depending on what kind of look you're going for.

So how much do a pair of polarized lenses (XLJ) for the half jackets cost? I'm thinking of trying to bargain with this guy, or buying a pair otherwise. They are pretty nice.

80-90 bucks direct from Oakley, probably a bit cheaper on ebay.

"Oakley and other selected brands" translates into "Ya know, any brand that makes a good quality lens and looks cool and is something you'd actually want to wear."

Ah. So if you are a timberland fanboy (heh, did I just say that outloud), and you like the timberland name, would you say that they are worth buying, or does Oakley produce better quality glasses / lenses for the same prices?

Edit :: Only two are on the timberland site? huh?

I still would get Oakleys, they make better lenses. I think the Timberland frames are for regular glasses, not sunglasses. But you can get prescription sunglasses in them through the optician. But it wouldn't be Timberland made lens.

Yup, anything popular. And to think there was a time when all I wanted was a cool pair of Police sunglasses. Now I think there's no such thing as a cool pair of Police sunglasses. LOL.

I actually bought a pair of Splices recently in the Crystal Black FMJ/Ice Iridium combo, really nice and unique looking but they ended up not fitting me too well comfort-wise (got em off Ebay, never tried them on before). Looked ok on me, but the nosepads are too small and so the frame sits right on my cheekbones. Ended up just having to turn right around and put them back up on Ebay. Those Matt Kennseth Splices are like the Crystal Black FMJ on steroids, very drool worthy.

It's a shame that most O-matter frames that have nosebombs don't include more than one size. The Half Jackets have two sizes, and the larger size pads made the difference between me walking out of the store with them or not back when I was looking at the Polished Aluminum/Titanium Iridium pair.

I have a few friends with gold iridum Oakleys, one of them noted the exact same shadow problem as me but hadn't been using his gold iridium Half Wires, so I told him to go see how that works. I unfortunately don't have anything bronze based at the moment that I can wear during workdays. I wear prescriptioned stuff during workdays and anything I have that is bronze based would require contacts, which I reserve for weekends (don't want to take chances with eye discomfort in a work environment, being still relatively new to contacts). But yeah if my friend reports back that it's any better, I may prescription some gold iridiums for my Juliets.

ok you Oakley fanboys

I already have a pair of black lens Why 8.0's, but I'm going on vacation and spending lots of time around the water, so I decided to order me some Polarized Why 8.0's.

The 8.0's are the best fitting and best looking Oakley for my face, but I'm wondering if the Gold Iridium is going to be the wrong color choice. What's your opinion of this color lens for just general use? I don't like the song of "shadow problems" as noted above.
