RF remote for reciever?

looking for something for my mom. she has an onkyo 5.1 reciever, just uses it for stereo though. she's got speakers upstairs, and downstairs. the onkyo has a IR remote that can be used by pointint at it. now what i'd like to do is get a little remote (needs to be simple and small to meet her taste), maybe with just volume. on/off, and track-skip.

can i get something like that so she could skip tracks and change volume downstairs?

couldn't be too expensive. has to be simple and easy; but i'll set it up so doesn't have to be terribly easy to install

Aren't there wireless "IR repeaters" of any kind? You know, like those el-cheapo rf-video transmitters?

Something like this, just sans all the A/V bits -> less expensive...
