(I asked him to build me a pair and asked for 2 terminals, one to bypass the circuit, based on this driver with that veneer - personally I think they are drop dead gorgeous and was incredibly satisfied with the price - I'll post reviews if anyone is interested).
Please post your review for us. The build quality looks excellent on those and that's a good driver. I haven't seen those before, so I'd really like to know what you think of them.

departures- Linkwitz is good stuff. If you like the Orion, build one. Dipoles are pretty special. If you're interested in a more conventional project, take a look at these:

I build them and I think they're darn good. Won't work so well with the S.E.X., but they're easy enough to drive. Evenif you're not interested, the site is worth reading.

Spekers Compatible with S.E.X Amp

If you are willing to finish the speakers yourself, meaning applying paint or veneer you might take a look at www.steinaudio.com. He has bass reflex boxes ready made for Fostex drivers which you can pick up from Madisound. He has bass reflex speakers he can build out of MDF for Fostex 167E, 83E or 88E depending on your budget. His build quality is exceptional and his service is just as good. Good luck.

Stein Audio is a good way to go for unfinished boxes (there is a host of places on the full range board or even audiogon as well) - add drivers from madisound, perhaps a couple of terminal, spikes, sound absorption, etc. even shipping from two locations and you're doing very well under budget.

Tekton has sold pairs of 167s on ebay for between 250-275 - which isn't too more than doing it your yourself (click through his past auctions to get a sense of what his stuff has gone for there in the past - some really interesting pieces painted any color like this or in other veneers like this bamboo with items under $175 oh yah, - subs too

I have no affiliation (just a customer) but do notice that people on this form are frequently asking for inexpensive speaker and think that his stuff like tekton's or mounting drivers in Stein's boxes should be considered more. True, full range is not for everyone, but they can sound quite magical - even in less-than-deal applications (desktops, t-amps, receivers, etc.)

Will definately review his stuff for interested parties when it arrives.
