Need help with XLR interconnects...

I'm putting together a balanced setup and need some good quality XLR interconnects. I've done due diligence with the search but it really hasn't solidified things for me so I'm asking for help.

If things work out and that's a big IF...I'll have either a Stello DA220 MKII or Storm D01 connecting to a Singlepower Supra XLR or Headamp GS-X. The headphones will be the HD650/Zu and Grado PS1 with an eye toward possibly the L3000 somewhere down the line.

At this point, some of the candidates(in no particular order) are:

Grover
Signal Cable
Mogami
Blue Jeans
Enigma Audio

I haven't ruled out some of the more expensive brands so if I had a limit to the spending for the IC's....I'd say $250? Can I get decent IC's for $250?

Any suggestions/links?

Bogdan Gold/Silver spirit ref. and never look back. I am running my whole system with them and they are smoooooth as butter with lots of detail and strong bass. I used them with my Singlepower SDS-XLR and the HD650/Zu also. They are as nice as I have heard In that system and in my speaker system.
The only draw back is they are bulky...but worth it.

Thanks, Tom. I'll add them to the list and check 'em out. Other suggestions? Surely there are some more satisfied XLR IC owners out there with opinions?

I don't own XLR interconnects, but I've owned various RCA interconnects and power cables from Signalcable and I'd recommend them to anyone. Frank is a good guy too, always had time to chat with me if I had any questions.

They were one of the first places I looked!

I also second the Bogdan Gold/Silver. I replaced my Chimera Labs Advantage Series II ics with these, and the Chimera's replaced my Signal Cable ics. The Signal Cable ics sound nice until you try something better and realize they are fatiguing.

It really is hard to better than the Bogdans at their price.

Thirded. The Bogdan's (Gold/Silver Spirit in particular) are hard to beat at the price point, and one of my favorite cables.

I do prefer the Virtual Dynamics Master and Revelation Series, but you can buy several pairs of Bogdan's for the price of one set of either of those

Thanks guys. I'll see if I can locate some or find link for more information. Still, I'll have a wee bit of a wait no matter which amp I go with so I'm still open to suggestions.

I'm not a big believer in expensive cables. That said, I love my Mogami XLRs

I have several cables by Enigma and always found them excellent value.

The Grover UR8 from what I hear seems another excellent inexpensive alternative.

In my balanced set up I am using a Cardas Golden Reference: good cable, very expensive, but I got it for an excellent price.

The best interconnect I have ever heard is the one I use for my speaker rig (DIN/RCA): a Oritek X2, quite expensive (I believe around $600 per metre) but absolutely fantastic

I put in emails to both Grover and Enigma a couple of days ago but no replies yet. I think GE is tied up with school and Grover...well, I guess he's into R&D and hasn't checked his email of late. Funny thing is that I also emailed Bogdan yesterday and haven't heard back from him either. Guess business is good!

GE is tied up with work, not school, he graduated last spring.

Need me to work him over at this weekend's meet for not answering his messages?
