The Sextett sounds pretty good too!

Well, the Sextett look more simple that what i used to think, when i looked to the design of it, for me, each one of the sextett was alto an active but smaller driver, but they are only passive, what an interesting idea for the time, why AKG stopped using it on the modern drivers? look like it could bring some benefits even today.

Money. It was a rather expensive technique.

That whole thread is very informative.

i've read this part, but they could use it on their flagship models and them find a way to produce it with lower costs and later use this design on cheaper models, now the technology is way more advanced, i'm sure they could produce it with 10 time lower the original costs back on the 70's or even more.

A Sextett and a Bottlehead Crack were my go-to pairing for the longest time (until I went to the darkside with orthos...).

The Pro 50, which predate the K 250 by a few years, have the Sextett radiators which are not found on the K 250. The K 250 have the DF baffle design and sound signature, in the main.

The picture of the K 250 you showed isn't a K 250 at all.

Seems I stand corrected... Thx vid.

I own the K240 Studio, my father owns the original K140 from the 70s, and I've tried a K271 and preferred it to the K240.

K612 Pro here. Soon to have the K712 Pro in my hands. Probably will get my old K240 MKII back some time as well.

The K612 Pro is a very nice headphone, but the K712 Pro seems to be even better yet, i must say i like the sound signature of AKG.
