Gaming Headphones: Need more info on what is commonly reccommended here - Page 2

post #16 of 21
I am also getting ready to make my first purchase of headphones ever heh. These will be 100% for gaming and I will go with the DT-770s/80 and an X-Fi extreme music.

If it is lacking after 100 hours of burn in, I will look to see what amp I can afford.

Which ones actually REQUIRE (not sound better, require) amps.
The DT770pro are great for FPS gaming and the such.
They do not require an amp unless you want to loose your hearing within 30 minutes (if you get my drift).

Truely a nice headphone for the price if you like their sonic signature.

Mercuttio speaks the truth!
Strive to hear them first hand!

Did you mean HD595? I found the HD590 to be quite lacking in the bass.

For gaming? o_O;;;
I'd think otherwise.

Back to topic though, I'd recommend the A900 over the A500 for their slightly higher bass quantity and positioning (which I found to be more accurate than the DT770). Its good for them explosions, where you'd want to look for distorted bass anyway

Back to gaming.... KABLAAAAAAAM! *gets blown sky high*

Add: Buuuuuut the DT770 is bassier than the A900!

Sennheiser PC-165 for FPS.

HD650/HD595 for RTS. (well, probably not HD650 if you don't have an amp, ATH-A900 instead).

Simple as that.
