The Pro is more popular because it is more mellow.

Personally, I think the Sig is more my thing, so if you decide to sell it, I'm interested.

By the way, I remember in Carl's 4070 thread someone mentioned that they really liked the 4070 headband compared to the regular lambda series ones. I called Yama's Inc today, and they said that there were different screws involved, so they won't fit normally, because one housing is made of aluminum, and the other of plastic. However, they also said it'd be pretty easy to mod them in order to let the headband fit, since it is still the same exact size. The headband itself costs about $200 USD.

I liked the 4070 headband until i learned it was self adjusting and was turned off. John was interested too but he wanted to have them on sigmas, not lambdas and i think yamas inc turned him down for that mod.

Not too bad a price considering how much some headband assemblies cost. I think the 4070's assembly would be quite nice on a headphone that didn't weight as much, but the 4070's themself exert too much weight causing things to sag a bit.

It's probably because it was really designed for teh SR-007, and adapted to those, but without any apparent change to the elastics.

I'm pretty sure they're different. The 007's headband is covered in leather, right?

I think so, but I could be wrong; I figured they were the same, since they looked identical aside from the enclosure mount.

Thee 4070's band is covered in artificial leather and artificial suede.

I'm seriously thinking about buying an Omega II at the end of the month. If I do I will more than likely go with one of the Stax Energisers. I live in the UK and don't really want to go to the trouble of importing an expensive amp.

So I'm left with the decision of tubes or solid state. Can some of you give me your opinions on the SR-007 vs SRM-717?

Thanks,

Pete.

I think the last thing the OIIs need is to be made warmer.

Vintage Gamma low bias

Should I be ashamed of my pathetic aging crappy non pro Gammas? I took them to my friends house with HD-650s and a huge German tube headphone amp and he liked mine better.
