Love STAX since I was a teen, lusting after them on the audio dealer's rack (even before that the Koss Electrostatics). Picked up a Basic set (202/212) in Akihabara on a business trip five or six years ago on the cheap, and been enjoying them ever since. Seems there's a lot more to them than I even knew.
Thanks for such a great website; I fear my wallet is in serious trouble.

Ha! Fresh meat!
Welcome and salutations to you and your unfortunate wallet. Glad your enjoying all the babble

aaaaand I'm just about ready to kill myself. There goes my shot at getting the KGSS that I could never get because they're too expensive at HeadAmp and they rarely make appearances here.

Thank you, kind sir!

Now back to more reading! I've already emailed somebody on Audiogon about a pair of Lambda Pros, but expect they're long gone, lol!

It uses a technology I have never seen before, where the power supply works as the volume control: SOurce: TDA2200 and RoomPerfect Product Description.pdf

Would it still destroy the music resolution?
That's a Class H amp, I believe, and therefore no. There is nothing 'truly unique' about Class H, though.

Aye, that was a good price on a KGSS, though ZZZ builds do have a bad rep. Looks like we might be competing for one in the not too distant future

Does headamp still make the KGSS? I thought Justin abandoned the KG designs in favor of his HEV90-based Aristeus (sp?).

The thread indicates that the unit was modded to avoid all of those problems prone to ZZZ builds.

I believe Justin still makes the KGSS. The Aristaeus was a limited edition thing, so it isn't a replacement for any of his other builds.

Justin still makes KGSSs, it's jut the Blue Hawaiis he no longer makes. Probably too time consuming for the profit he made off them.

I can tell you they are time consuming...

Humble request from this noob...

Any chance this can be made a "sticky"??

I'm having to go to page two to find it, and worry it might disappear entirely some day...

It won't disappear. It's usually one of the first two or three threads that come up when you searc for 'Stax' anyway.

Besides, we do a pretty good job at keeping it bumped.

Bumped?

This thread's pretty active all the time, so it shouldn't ever go past the 3rd or 4th page or so.

STAX SRM-313 has finally arrived. I don't have an opportunity to give them a listen at the moment, but I do have my SR-404s charging. I'll give 'em a listen after ~6 hours of charging.
Wait what the score with 6 hours of charging? I keep mine plugged in and in like 15-20 they are good to go. When I unplug to spend the weekind at the office sometimes I feel it needs max 45 min. Something I dont know cause I dont hear it

Also what is the deal with this woo gilmore design? Its an older version of what headamp is making and selling for 1.5K?
