Smells of a scam to me, especially when you consider this little excerpt:

According to ebays own rules, if you have an auction option and someone has a maximum big in, that constitutes a sale. If this guy wants 600 quid, he should have chosen the BIN option only. Thats why its there. No matter how much "do not bid" he puts in the auction, its an auction, he chose the option when he set it up.

But yeah, looks dodgy as hell to me.

Woah, I was JUST looking at that and drooling at the possibility of owning an Omega II rig for only ~1.2k.

I may have my hands on an SRM-1/MK-2...

The seller ended the listing early

It'll definately work. How good it will sound depends on what amp you're using it with.

Does that mean that I need some kind of transformer or something to make it 110 volts or else it won't work here (I'm not sure if the guy who is selling the SRM-313 has the transformer)?
Wrong kind of transformer. You're thinking about step-up power transformers to allow you to use a bit of electronics in a different part of the world.

What we are talking about is a voltage transformer used for driving a pair of electrostatic headphones off a poweramp, rather than a specialised electrostatic headphone amp.

600 quid? For both a Omega II and a 007t? Ahahaha!

The sad thing is, if they had priced it at 1800 quid, they'd have probably fooled people.

Ah, so using an SRM-1/MK-2 will be just fine here? I'm a bit confused as to how this voltage lever works (Picture of Jahn's SRM-1/MK-2):

I'm assuming that Jahn's has been modified to only output 100v/117v? And if I get mine I just have to move the switch to the right under 100v/117v? And lastly, would some sort of power conditioner that would ensure that a clean, constant source of 110 volts help a lot in A. Improving the sound, and B. Protecting my STAX rig from breaking (due to variable voltage being applied)?

And if the SRM-313 naturally comes with the kind of transformer to use electronics around the world, does that mean that the SRM-313 shouldn't work here without a transformer (Meaning that if I buy an SRM-313 alone on these forums I'd need a transformer)?

Those guys really piss me off, there's been a seller who does the exact same thing (His font and color choice is the same as well), who's been scamming a lot of Krells, and B&O speakers. I browse the Krell amps and cd players everyday on eBay, and the same guy has listed over 20 Krell KPS-20ts, Krell FBP 300s, etc. It's really annoying.

Move the jumper so the arrow is under 117v, and you're done.

I was under the impression that the 313 was jumperable and didn't need a stepup transformer.

Question: I just realized the SRM 1 mk2 I've been using had the arrow pointing from 240v -> 220v. Now, even though I'm in the U.S., it was working just fine. Should I bother changing it? And if I do, where should the arrow be pointing. Thanks.

Just got the SR-404/SRM-313 combo yesterday. It sounds so good I might swear off dynamic headphones forever and fully convert to electrostats.

Ooops. Does it get unusually hot?

Assumed. Anyone actually done it? If not I'll try to find some OII owner in this geographic area willing to have a mini Lambda/Omega meet on the QT

Not really. I touched the top after it was on for a good 2-3 hours, and it didn't feel particularly warm at all.

Odd, but I guess its not something to complain about!

Doesn't matter at this point, I set the jumped with the arrow pointing towards 117v. (I hope I did that right) :P
