I can't imagine Stax made more than a hundred pairs of them total.

That's what I was kinda thinking . Nothing like some big resonant devices sitting in the corners.

What gets me is, if you own a pair of DMA-X2s connected to a DAC-X1t, why the hell would you want to listen to your 'stats using a SRM-T1W?

You've got one of the best amplifiers ever made, man, why are you using a midrange amp for you headphones!?!

Should be good! Not that the SR-X/MK3s have much bottom end...
Nevermind. This is ridiculous... and now I know my left driver is buggered. I've got slight rattling on some bass notes, noticable in quiet passages with lotsa bass. I think the SR-X/MK3s hate me now. They're like... I was made to be driven with a 70's receiver playing classical music, and you've got me hooked up to this 110lb solid state monster, and you're feeding me this? WTF?

This is totally retarded, this album must sound insane on SR-007s... bass bass bass bass bass bass bass bass

I'm tempted to rip out the Grado SR325s just for yucks... should sound like strapping a pair of 18" subwoofers to my head.

I wish I'd have been aware of them back when they were still in production. They were going a lot cheaper both new and second hand.
Me too!
$1800 seems to be their current going rate, which is a bit on the high side if you ask me. Wish I got them while they were still available!

BTW. Highest bid untill now is $150...
Sounds like a pretty good bid to me!
I am looking for a SRD-7 MKII, or possibly a Pro. But at the moment not willing to go above $100, since their current going rate seems to in the $70-100 range.

That is, if we forget about 'feckn_eejit' for a moment. Cause he only drive the price WAY UP!

Ah well, it's not bad. I'm playing them stupidly loud anyway. This is a good excuse to find SR-Gamma Pro drivers and covert these to SR-X/MK3 Pros...

Good idea. Trash that 1970s-vacuum-cleaner cord while you're at it.
