I should just take my balls out of my purse and see if Justin will build me a killer transformer box...
...but knowing how busy he is I'll still have to buy a SRM-727 to tide me over

That seems to be the problem for me: the lack of a mid-level SS electro-stat amp that resides between the SRM-313 and the higher-ups like the KGSS or the SRM-727. So I'm left only with transformers, but pro-transformers rarely show up. And I can't DIY for the life of me, so I'm stuck in a coundrum, even though I really want some electrostats.

I'd be okay with shelling out for a high dollar amp if I really liked their designs... though I am solidly a solid-state kind of guy (haha) the KGBH floats my boat, but good luck finding one... plus I mean... the X250.5 sounds bloody amazing with the low bias setup I'm enjoying currently, why wouldn't it rock my world with pro-bias units too?

The KGSS really isn't that expensive in terms of parts. Mainly just the power transformer and the case. If you can find a willing builder, just get one made with cheaper parts.

Got to wait until Sigma Pro gets here, but that will give me another Stax adapter with Pro output, and that may be overkill (unless the adapter with Sigma Pro really bites). Your wish may yet be granted. Patience...

Actually the SRM-X Pro isn't an adapter, it's a driver unit (amp).

Like...awesome in a sense that I like The Nightfly, not so much Kamakiriad, and am not wild about Two Against Nature or Everything Must Go? My fav Steely Solo is 11 Tracks of Whack, by MILES.

No way, there's no doubt a long list of folks who have been beating the bushes for one of these for awhile. I suspect quite a bidding war would ensue if a SRD-7 Pro became available soon...I'd sure be one of the bidders!

BTW, have there been any further developments on possibly modding a low bias SRD-7 into a high bias Pro? I know it's been discussed, but unless I've missed something, no one has actually done it yet, right?

You mean I just bought another amp? I'm trying to cut down on amps, not get more. A spare adapter would have actually been useful
